FAQ
1. How does ClickFold protect my intellectual property?
We will not share information about your designs or orders with any other party. We will also not sell products that have been designed for you to any other party, unless you have given us authorization. Upon request, we are willing sign a non-disclosure agreement. A basic non-disclosure agreement and other useful advice can be found at www.score.org.
2. How do I request a quote?
We can quote based on 3D and 2D CAD files, drawings, sketches, pictures, and even text based descriptions. At a minimum, your request for a quote should include the overall external dimensions and a description or images of the required features. Also, an estimate of future production runs and their frequency helps us determine the most economical solution. Please also include your phone number and e-mail address, in case we have further questions. Email or fax us your request and we will e-mail your quote within 24 hours. Please feel free to call us anytime at 1-866-649-8665 for further clarification or to inquire about the status of your quote. E-mail: sales@clickfold.com Phone and Fax:1-866-649-8665
3. How do I setup an account?
Call us or e-mail us your company name, ship-to and bill-to address, and the person to contact (phone number and e-mail address) and we will setup your account with us. We do not require credit references and do not conduct credit checks. We require payment in advance for prototypes, which will establish a credit line for future production orders. Production orders are billed net 15 from the day of shipment.
4. How do I get my order started?
Purchase orders can be faxed to 1-866-649-8665 or e-mailed to sales@clickfold.com. Please send informal instructions to proceed with the order as quoted (please include our quotation number), a PO # or a contact name, and a ship-to address. You will receive an order confirmation within 24 hours of your order. In the case of prototype orders, it will be accompanied by an invoice for the deposit.
5. How do I participate in the design process?
Upon receipt of your order, one of our product designers will call or e-mail you to review the product and discuss the design requirements. Typically within 3 days, you will receive a 3D CAD file that you can either open in your CAD software or view using e-drawings (a free viewing software). We will ask you to review the product and approve it for prototyping or request changes using our on-line approval form. Within a few days from the approval, we will ship the prototype. Using the same form you will be able to ask for corrections, make changes or simply approve it for production.
6. How does ClickFold ship its products?
Our shop management software integrates with our UPS and FedEx on-line accounts and shipments are picked up daily after 5 PM. Tracking numbers and shipping charges are automatically added to our invoices. This keeps our shipping costs at a minimum and allows us to pass on shipper volume discounts to our customers. For this reason, we cannot ship against customer account numbers or use other shippers. Ground UPS is the default mode of shipment and Express Delivery is available upon request.
7. Does ClickFold ship to non-U.S. destinations?
Yes, we ship to Canada, Europe and Mexico (International freight rates apply). Better yet, we have a European affiliate that can manufacture any ClickFold product locally: CubiDesign of Germany
8. How do I pay my bill? Does ClickFold accept credit cards?
We outsource our A/R management to Magnolia Financial, which allows us to keep our administrative overhead at a minimum and stay focused on providing our products as quickly and cost efficiently as possible. They are NOT A COLLECTION AGENCY - they process customer payments, provide our customers with statements, and call on past due accounts for about the same fee that it would cost us to run a credit card. This setup makes our cash-flow more predictable and improves customer service at the same time. Our remit-to address for company checks is: ClickFold Plastics c/o Magnolia Financial PO Box 890995 Charlotte, NC 28289 Our terms are net 30 and we extend a $5,000 credit limit to all new business accounts. Please note that we stop providing service to accounts with unpaid invoices aged past 90 days. For credit card payments: Please call us at 1-866-649-8665 and enter extension 707 and you will be forwarded to Magnolia (or call them directly at 1-866-573-0611). Please refer to the ClickFold account and the invoice # you wish to pay using any major credit card.
9. What do I do if there is a problem with my product?
Please return defective parts or unsatisfactory prototypes within 30 days for prompt credit or replacement. No material return authorization (RMA) is required. Ship returns to: ClickFold Plastics Returns 2900 Westingouse Blvd - Ste 118 Charlotte, NC 28273 If you wish to notify us or provide special instructions please send them to production@clickfold.com Returns trigger an immediate credit or replacement and corrective action (design and work order update). For that reason, please make sure the defective product is returned to us promptly, especially when you are expecting further shipments of the same product. Thank you.
10. What is the average lead time?
Depending on the current backlog, most design jobs are completed within 1 week. Expect 2 weeks on average for production orders.
11. Can I "reserve" time in the design department in advance to avoid delays due to peaks in your business?
On the design and prototyping side, we operate on first-come-first serve basis and most jobs are completed within a week or two. We have learned that the release of engineering information and/or internal sample parts to us, by our customers, drives the schedule more than anything else. If we do not have all the information, we are unable to design the part. However, you can get in the queue by placing an order now and we will continue to push it back until you are ready. There will be no charges until we deliver a CAD file or prototype. In order to receive quote and place your order, you need to begin by picking a part or enclosure from our catalog similar to your product. With this information, we will generate a quote and part number for the job. Go to: http://www.clickfold.com/products/
12. Is a prototype required with every new production run or change made?
Yes. We require a prototype before a new production run and/or every change made, to confirm that the product is reviewed, tested, and meets all your requirements for its use in the field. It's also required by our insurance carrier, for liability reasons, since we make products based off of your engineering needs and are unaware of how the product will be fully utilized in the market.
